Mark Bigham joins our Board of Advisors!

Wave Motion is ecstatic to announce Mr. Mark Bigham as the first official member of our Board of Advisors!

Mark brings decades of experience in the space and defense industry where his creative thinking skills have led him to successful innovation projects in both the DoD and private industry. He began his career in the Air Force in 1979, stationed in Berlin and becoming an Operations Missions Supervisor in the 6912th Electronic Security Group.

Mark’s career in the private sector has spanned the intersection of technology and business as both a corporate leader and founder. He became a team member at E-Systems Tactical Reconnaissance Division from 1987 to 1995, supporting the Air Force’s Big Safari program. He next joined Raytheon Company from 1995 to 1999 as director of business development in the Tactical Reconnaissance Division. Mark them made the jump to entrepreneurship as a co-founder of ComCept, Inc. from 1999-2003 with a focus on machine-to-machine collaboration technology. This company had a successful exit with an acquisition by L-3 Communications. Mark then once again joined Raytheon in 2005 as the vice president of business development for Defense and Civil Mission Solutions. In this role he established Raytheon as a leader in UAV C2 systems, Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS), airborne SIGINT sensors, multi-INT ground systems and ISR battlespace management. Mark finished his career at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) as Chief Innovation Officer where he worked to develop better solutions and innovations across the company.

Mark now advises innovative defense and intelligence focused startups on a wide variety of growth matters. We’re confident that Mark’s passion, skills, and experience will serve as valuable catalysts for Wave Motion’s mission to revolutionize launch and accelerate the development of space.
